Diagnose, treat, and monitor chronic diseases
Nurse practitioners are trained to manage acute illness, infection or injuries. We see people who are acutely ill. Examples include but are not limited to: sinus infection, upper respiratory infection, ear infections, rash, urinary tract infection, pain, injuries, etc. We have the ability to treat minor injuries, but we do not do suturing.
We also diagnose, treat, monitor and manage any chronic diseases. Lung issues, cardiac issues, abdominal issues, neurologic issues, orthopedic issues, male, female, infant, child, adolescent, geriatric are all under the family medicine umbrella.
