Lactation Consultation
Our mission at Stellar Healthcare is to provide you with the help you need to reach your breastfeeding goals, from the immediate postpartum period and beyond.
In collaboration with our Nurse Practitioners, our in house International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) works to provide you with expert support to overcome any breastfeeding challenges that may come along the way.
We offer moms a wide range of breastfeeding support and help, including:
- Hospital discharge follow-up for mom and baby
- Newborn position and latch
- Use of breast pumps, milk expression and milk storage
- Weight checks
- Bilirubin follow-up
- Milk supply concerns
- Assessing tongue tie/ lip tie
- Flat/inverted nipples, plugged ducts, mastitis
- Pumping and milk storage
- Use of supplemental nutrition
- Family involvement in feeding (Fathers, siblings, grandparents)
- Feeding plans for returning to work
- Weaning
