According to Melissa, “Being a nurse practitioner is the best job in the world, I love what I do and getting to know my patients. The joy of family medicine is providing care to the individual and also the extended family members and friends!”

A nurse practitioner is a provider who manages the healthcare needs of all patients.  This includes well child exams, physical exams, ill or sick visits, medication consultations and medication management, laboratory results, imaging results and any other medical services.   Melissa takes a proactive approach to healthcare and really listens to her patients.  She is able to do referrals for any health concerns requiring a referral.  According to Melissa, “a Nurse Practitioner is best described as a healthcare provider who provides comprehensive medical care with a physician’s knowledge and a nurse’s compassion.”

When Melissa is not caring for her patients, she is enjoying time with her husband and two wonderful children. In her spare time, she enjoys her children’s activities, swim meets, shopping, spending time with friends and family, photography, cooking and baking.
